Carnegie Mellon University Libraries and World Bank Group Publications Join NFAIS

July 15, 2015 by Gary Price

News from the National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS):

The National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS) announces Carnegie Mellon University Libraries and World Bank Group Publications have joined NFAIS as new members.
“We’re delighted to welcome Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) Libraries and World Bank Group Publications as members of NFAIS,” said Marcie Granahan, NFAIS Executive Director. “These institutions play vital global roles in support of their missions while making significant contributions to information services. NFAIS’s unique dynamic has long been the diversity of its membership. The addition of CMU Libraries and World Bank Publications Group to NFAIS greatly adds to this diversity.”
The CMU Libraries are comprised of the Roy A. Hunt Library, containing more than 600,000 volumes; the Roger Sorrells Engineering & Science Library; the Mellon Institute Library, which serves the Departments of Chemistry and Biological Sciences; and the Posner Center, which features collections of rare and historic books and art.
The CMU Libraries system also includes the Qatar Library, serving the CMU Qatar campus, and the CMU Software and Engineering Institute’s Digital Library. Keith G. Webster is the Dean of Libraries at Carnegie Mellon University.
The World Bank Group Publications, which publishes and disseminates a large selection of research and knowledge products, produces authoritative reports such as the World Development Report and Doing Business that feature research from some of the top development economists and practitioners.
