November 21, 2013 by Gary Price

Vodafone Romania is a subsidiary of Vodafone, a global wirelessand around the world.
From Telecomm Paper:

Vodafone Romania announced that 30,000 students from 200 high schools across the country now have access to books from its ‘Biblioteca digitala (Digital library)’ project. The number of schools where the service will be available will be increased to 300 by the end of the year. Developed in partnership with BookLand, the project currently offers access to 100 book titles.

Students download ebooks to their phone (they’re not charged for the data even if they use another wireless provider) by scanning a QR code.
Additional Details in this Mechanically Translated (Google) News Release from Vodafone Romania.

Digital Library is a project initiated by Vodafone in August 2012 with the launch of the first digital libraries of Metro Romania, in partnership with Humanitas.
