Video: ITHAKA / JSTOR Officials Speak at National Library of Israel About Hebrew Journals Project

Last summer we posted about a digitization project to digitize Hebrew language journals from the National Library of Israel, Haifa University, and ITHAKA / JSTOR.
In December, officials from ITHAKA and JSTOR traveled to Israel for a workshop with librarians, publishers, and others.

In a workshop held at the National Library of Israel on Dec 3, 2012, representatives of JSTOR, the Library, and other partners presented and discussed various aspects of the Hebrew Journals Project — a collaborative effort to digitize, preserve and disseminate Hebrew language journals in a range of disciplines, including Jewish studies, history, sociology, and the social sciences.
“Expanding access to Hebrew journals and making them available online for researchers, the academic sector, and the broader public is part of the mission of the NLI,” said Oren Weinberg, CEO of the National Library of Israel. “We are excited about this collaboration and believe this project will help advance research and teaching.”
