Reference: Selection of New Research Briefing Papers from UK House of Commons and House of Lords Libraries

December 1, 2011 by Gary Price

The UK House of Commons and House of Lords Libraries publish and update a large amount of research briefings each day.
Reports cover hundreds of topics both domestic and international and might remind you of the type of material that the Congressional Research Service provides.
This page provides access to thousands of reports. Entries can be sorted by:

  • Type of Paper
  • Topic (More than 350 are Listed)
  • Date (1991-2011)

Here’s a small selection reports published or updated from November 1, 2011 – December 1, 2011.  Our focus is on reports that we hope will be of greatest interest to an international audience. Again, this is only a small amount of the material published last month.
Each of the following links will take you to an abstract along with a direct link to the full text that you can access as a PDF file. All reports are free.

  • Afghanistan: The Timetable for Security Transition
    24 pages
  • The Arab Uprisings

  • In Brief: Egyptian election 2011
