Publication Alert: Inaugural Issue of International Journal of Disability Policy & Advocacy (IJDPA)

January 7, 2026 by Gary Price

The inaugural issue of the International Journal of Disability Policy and Advocacy  is now available.

Issue 1 includes the article “Bridging the Gap: How Congress Can Codify the Rights of
People with Disabilities to Access Digital Works” by Katherine Klosek, Director of Information Policy and Federal Relations at the Association of Research Libraries (ARL).

About IJDPA

The International Journal of Disability Policy & Advocacy (Birkdale Publishers) exists to provide a rigorous, inclusive, and interdisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing critical scholarship, dialogue, and practice in the field of disability rights, policy, and advocacy.

Its central purpose is to foster a deeper understanding of how laws, policies, institutions, and social norms shape the lived experiences of people with disabilities globally. By creating space for both academic inquiry and practitioner perspectives, the journal aims to bridge the gap between research and action, ensuring that knowledge contributes directly to empowerment, equity, and systemic change.
