Dictionaries: “Slop” Added to Cambridge Dictionary, as AI Redefines Language

As the uses, benefits and risks of AI continue to change, Cambridge Dictionary editors are keeping a close eye on emerging words and phrases used to describe how we are interacting with the technology.
A new AI-related definition of Slop has recently been added to the Cambridge Dictionary. The traditional definition of slop is “liquid or wet food waste, especially when it is fed to animals”. The newly updated definition is: content on the internet that is of very low quality, especially when it is created by artificial intelligence.
