U.S. Repository Network (USRN) Releases Desirable Characteristics for Digital Publication Repositories
From a USRN Announcement (via a Yahoo Group):
The U.S. Repository Network (USRN) Steering Group approved Desirable Characteristics for Digital Publication Repositories, Version 1.0 on March 31, 2023. The document was drafted by a USRN working group and is intended to align and work in parallel with the Desirable Characteristics of Data Repositories for Federally Funded Research already issued by the National Science and Technology Council. This work is an output of the USRN Action Plan 2022-2023, and will be followed by additional guidance and best practices for repositories as well as advocacy for adoption of the desirable characteristics in the context of OSTP’s public access guidance.
Many thanks to working group members Jason Bengtson (Washington University in St. Louis), Hannah Hadley (Princeton University), Amanda Hurford (PALNI), and Sherry Lake (University of Virginia) for their invaluable input on this project.
USRN welcomes feedback regarding what guidance and best practices are most needed to apply the desirable characteristics in U.S. repositories.
