August 8, 2022 by Gary Price

From the National Library of Medicine Technical Bulletin:

Are you a health educator or librarian looking for the best quality consumer health information?

MedlinePlus is the National Library of Medicine’s (NLM’s) premier consumer health information resource. Librarians, teachers, healthcare professionals, community health representatives, peer counselors, and other health educators teach people how to find high-quality, relevant, and easy-to-understand consumer health information in English and Spanish using MedlinePlus.

Now available in Spanish, the MedlinePlus Tutorial for Librarians and Health Educators explains how to locate information on health conditions, drugs, supplements, genetics, and medical tests at MedlinePlus. Educators can now deepen their knowledge of the selection criteria and sources of MedlinePlus through hands-on exercises and knowledge checks. Designed to take about an hour to complete, this interactive, narrated tutorial also highlights additional tools and the authoritative sources from which MedlinePlus draws its health information.

The new Spanish language tutorial is now available.

An English language version is available on the NLM website and for Medical Library Association Continuing Education (MLA CE) on the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) website.
