Budget Reduction: University of Washington Libraries Posts Update on Subscription Review Process
From the U. of Washington Libraries:
Given the pre-COVID budget shortfall and a 4.6% budget reduction to UW Libraries, the Libraries has been actively reviewing subscriptions in response to the 2020-2021 fiscal year budget allocations. At this time, the Libraries has the ability to cover most of the budget reductions by using one-time endowment funds; however in order to meet the difference, we have an initial cancellation target of $125,000 in database and e-journal subscriptions for this fiscal year 2020-2021.
With the intention to be transparent with our budget and decision-making process, we are posting a list of planned cancellations at Research Guides: Database Subscription Review 2020-2021.

In anticipation of a flat or decreased budget for next fiscal year 2021-2022, we are beginning planning for a secondary subscription review for the Spring 2021.
