Great Western Library Alliance (GWLA) Adopts Licensing Principles Document
From the GWLA Newsletter (6/16/2020):
An outgrowth of the work of the GWLA Task Force on Offsets and Transformative Agreements, the GWLA Board, on Friday, June 12, 2020, adopted a “GWLA Licensing Principles” document. The document was overwhelmingly endorsed by the GWLA membership. The document serves as a philosophical underpinning to the GWLA Model License. As stated in the introduction:
“In this time of change and uncertainty, it is important that we remind ourselves and declare the values and principles that bind us together. These licensing principles are an articulation of our values and priorities applied to all of our licenses and agreements for resources to support the teaching and research at our institutions. These licensing principles are a companion to the GWLA Model License and provide the scaffolding for negotiations and agreements going forward.”
