COAR (Confederation of Open Access Repositories) Cancels Annual Meeting, Will Hold Virtual General Assembly
From the COAR Website:
The COAR Executive Board, along with the local organizers: CONCYTEC, Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, and LA Referencia, have decided that – due to increasing health risk and travel restrictions for our members related to the novel corona virus – the meeting should not take place.
It is a really unfortunate situation. The program was shaping up to be very dynamic and interesting. And, with our first Annual Meeting planned for outside Europe, it promised to provide many of us with a new perspective on scholarly communications from a Latin American point of view. Over the coming weeks, we will consider how we can salvage and build on the planning work already done.
COAR will, however, go ahead with the General Assembly by virtual meeting on April 24, 2020 at 13h -15h (UCT/GMT). The COAR office is preparing for this and we will be in touch shortly about how this whole process will work, but please mark it in your calendars.
