University of Missouri Libraries Posts List of FY20 Journal Cancellations
UPDATED POST February 25, 2020 U. of Missouri: “MU Libraries Forced to Make Large Journal Cuts For Upcoming Fiscal Year” (via The Maneater)
—
From U. of Missouri Libraries Blog Post:
The current cost models for journal subscriptions require an average 6% increase per year to maintain current subscriptions. As a result, we must plan to cancel titles each year even when our budget remains flat. To minimize the impact of these cancelations, we focused on journals which received very low usage and/or are accessible through a current journal aggregator such as EBSCO or ProQuest. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) will remain an effective, efficient means of acquiring materials not held by the Libraries. Most articles requested via ILL are received within one to two business days.
