Rebecca T. Miller Named Group Publisher of Library Journal, School Library Journal, and The Horn Book; Meredith Schwartz Named Editor-in-Chief, LJ; Kathy Ishizuka Named Editor-in-Chief, SLJ
Today, MSI Information Services announced the appointment of new leadership for the company’s flagship media brands.
Rebecca T. Miller
Rebecca T. Miller has been named Group Publisher of Library Journal, School Library Journal, and The Horn Book. A recognized industry thought leader, Miller has been with the company since 1998 in a number of roles with successive responsibilities. She has most recently been Editorial Director of LJ and SLJ since 2013, also serving as Editor-in-Chief of each. As Group Publisher, she will oversee the Media & Information Services division which is made up of these three core brands, focusing on new initiatives, projects, and products on multiple platforms to better serve the needs of the library and learning ecosystem.

The company also announced a series of appointments to key editorial positions reporting to Miller:
Meredith Schwartz has been named Editor-in Chief of Library Journal. Schwartz, a seasoned journalist who joined LJ in 2012 as news editor, has been Executive Editor of LJ since 2015.
Kathy Ishizuka
Kathy Ishizuka has been named Editor-in-Chief of School Library Journal. She has been with SLJ since 2004, most recently in the role of Executive Editor since 2013.
Ishizuka will also take on a dual title of Partnerships & Innovation Director for LJ and SLJ, where in addition to her Editor-in-Chief responsibilities for SLJ she will focus on expanding existing partnerships and forging new ones as well as speeding the team’s ability to envision and realize new initiatives.
Roger Sutton, the longstanding Editor-in-Chief of The Horn Book, will continue in that capacity.
Gary Price (gprice@gmail.com) is a librarian, writer, consultant, and frequent conference speaker based in the Washington D.C. metro area.
He earned his MLIS degree from Wayne State University in Detroit.
Price has won several awards including the SLA Innovations in Technology Award and Alumnus of the Year from the Wayne St. University Library and Information Science Program. From 2006-2009 he was Director of Online Information Services at Ask.com. Gary is also the co-founder of infoDJ an innovation research consultancy supporting corporate product and business model teams with just-in-time fact and insight finding.
