Florida: St. Petersburg Set to Rename Main Library After President Obama

Mayor Rick Kriseman is set to announce that the city’s main library will be renamed after former President Barack Obama.

The city says the decision follows a spring 2017 meeting between Kriseman and community leaders to get feedback about the renaming. The plan calls for enhancing the library’s programming to include an emphasis on presidential history, civics, and the contributions of former President Obama and his wife, Michelle.
