Canada: More Jobs Cut at the Bibliothèque et archives nationales du Québec
The Bibliothèque et archives nationales du Québec will layoff 40 positions over the next six months in what will be their fourth wave of job cuts since 2009.
BAnQ informed the Syndicat de professionelles et professionels du gouvernment du Québec this week several temporary and permanent positions will be cut, including those of librarian, archivist and researcher.
In an email, the SPGQ wrote in the past eight years, BAnQ has shed $15 million to reduce costs. For fiscal year 2016-2017, the total came up to $2 million.
