Ontario: Windsor Public Library Eyes Mega-Hospital for Location of ‘Innovative’ Branch
From The Windsor Star:
The Windsor Public Library and Windsor Regional Hospital announced Monday the two will explore the possibility of opening a branch at the proposed acute-care hospital at County Road 42 and Concession 9 in Windsor.
Library CEO Kitty Pope said the library has nine locations throughout the city and the new hospital branch would help to better serve residents in South Windsor.
“Right now, 40 per cent of the reference questions the library receives are health related,” Pope said.
From the CBC:
“The concept is an information hub that brings our customers inside a state-of-the-art, regional healthcare facility and promotes further partnerships and collaboration,” said Library CEO Kitty Pope, explaining about 40 per cent of library reference questions are health-related.
“This location gives us a unique opportunity to partner with medical professionals and offer new services to the community,” she added.
