Presidential Libraries: Search For Obama Library Director To Begin Soon, Three Archivists Already Hired
From The Chicago Tribune:
After selecting architects and a site for the Obama Presidential Center, President Barack Obama faces another key decision: choosing a director for his library and museum.
The job hasn’t been advertised yet, but if recent practices hold a director could be in on the job by early next year.
The Obama library team now is being assembled. A museum specialist, supervisory archivist, archives technician and three archivists have been hired, National Archives spokeswoman Laura Diachenko said. The National Archives is advertising for a facility operations specialist responsible for heating, air conditioning, security and other systems. That hire, like other staffers, will work first in an old furniture store in Hoffman Estates and move to Jackson Park when the presidential center is completed, she said.
