Fast and Cool Facts! Top States For Ice Cream and Frozen Dessert Manufacturing Employment (Interactive Chart)
From the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics:
July is national ice cream month! In 2015, 20,135 workers were employed in the ice cream and frozen desert manufacturing industry at 562 establishments nationwide. On average, workers in the industry earned $46,092 per year.
California had the highest employment in the industry with 2,675 workers at 68 establishments, followed by Pennsylvania with 1,281 workers at 22 establishments, and Ohio with 922 workers at 17 establishments.
These data are from the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages. Data for the 20 states not shown in the chart did not meet BLS standards for publication.
