July is national ice cream month! In 2015, 20,135 workers were employed in the ice cream and frozen desert manufacturing industry at 562 establishments nationwide. On average, workers in the industry earned $46,092 per year.
California had the highest employment in the industry with 2,675 workers at 68 establishments, followed by Pennsylvania with 1,281 workers at 22 establishments, and Ohio with 922 workers at 17 establishments.
