The addition of support for school libraries was added to the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESEA) (S. 1177) on Monday.
ALA has told us that the bill will likely be voted on today in the House of Representatives and, if passed will be voted on in the Senate on Monday.

As we discussed in a post on November 19th, the final language of the Every Student Succeeds Act negotiated by a House and Senate Conference Committee has just been released. This bill reauthorizes the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and I am happy to report that the members of the Committee recognized the importance of an effective school library
