Three New Publishers Join OAPEN
EDP Sciences
EDP Sciences is a leading scientific publisher operating mainly in the physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology and medical sciences. It is fully dedicated to the services of authors and readers.
The first four titles of EDP Sciences are now online in the OAPEN Library.
Stockholm University Press
Stockholm University Press is a new Open Access publisher of peer-reviewed academic journals and books. They aim to make books affordable, and to give them the widest possible dissemination so that researchers around the world can find and access the information they need without barriers.
In partnership with authors and series editors, Stockholm University Press publishes in the humanities, social sciences and the natural sciences. Its main focal points are rigorous peer review, Open Access and global dissemination.
The first OA books by Stockholm University Press are due to be published in the OAPEN Library within the next couple of weeks.
University of Ottawa Press
The University of Ottawa Press is North America’s oldest French-language and only fully bilingual university press. It has developed a publishing program in the social sciences and humanities that promotes critical and ethical thinking, first-class research, intellectual integrity, social responsibility, and innovation.
The first six books are already online in the OAPEN Library.
New Pilot Project in Switzerland and Germany
The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) has announced the launch of a new pilot project for Open Access books. The SNSF has started the OAPEN-CH project this February in collaboration with interested academic publishers in Switzerland and Germany. We are pleased to be SNFS’s partner in the project and glad to be able to share our experience built up through the Dutch pilot project OAPEN-NL.
The OAPEN-CH project’s aim is to learn more about Open Access publishing and collect data on the use and the production costs of Open Access book publications. The project aims to contribute towards a better understanding and higher acceptance of Open Access for book publications and its benefits.
OAPEN is based in The Hague, Netherlands
