Scholarly Publishing: CHORUS Given Charitable Organization Status by IRS
Word of CHORUS being given nonprofit, charitable, tax-exempt 501 (c)(3) status by the IRS came in a blog post earlier today by Susan Spilka, Marketing and Communications Director, at the organization.
Spilka writes:
The designation, which is retroactive to October 1, 2013, when CHOR incorporated, means that we have met the rigorous standards to qualify as charity organized and operated for the public benefit.
She adds that with 501 (c)(3) status donations to CHORUS are now tax-deductible.
