NewsNow, a resource from the UK, is a company that’s been around for seventeen years.
NewsNow topic pages automatically refresh (if the page is open) every five minutes. Each entry includes the title/headline of the story, name of source and time crawled. Each entry also includes a flag icon to identify where a source is based. The company offers technology that aggregates news reports (for free) from thousands of global news source. This is in addition to the fee-based work they do for clients.
Here’s the NewsNow page that provides a continuous stream of news reports about the crisis in Ukraine.
Worth Noting
1. NewsNow streams can contain material from blogs. If you want to eliminate these items from the stream your viewing, click the more link (right-side of page), head to the blogs section, use the drop-down menu and select hide.
2. NewsNow is a very useful service but it’s not with issues. For us, at the top of this list is an issue with duplicates. You’ll often find the identical underlying story from multiple sources. In other words, you’ll find the same AP report (each with a unique headline) from a number of news sites.
