Canadian Association of Research Libraries Requests Clarification About Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans Libraries
From the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL):
CARL President Gerald Beasley wrote Fisheries and Oceans Minister Gail Shea asking for clarification on the steps taken during the amalgamation of DFO libraries.
In light of recent media reports on library closures, CARL wants to make sure that unique collections are preserved.
The letter also notes that some DFO libraries contacted CARL members to review and select superfluous materials before closing.
