Freebie Alert: Box Offers 50GB of Free Storage If You Download Their Newly Updated iOS App
If you’re looking for a nice chunk of cloud-based storage and have an iOS device, Box (a well-known player in cloud storage) is offering 50GB for free for life (or as long as you keep the account open) if you download their newly-updated iOS app (also free) in the next 30 days (offer ends on February 14, 2014) That’s all you have to do, no questions asked.
Your data can be accessed via the app or the Box web site.
A Box.net free account (you can use it with your 50GB of storage) permits uploads of up to 250MB. If you want the ability to upload larger files or need more space you can always upgrade to a fee-based account.
This page provides a chart of what comes with a free account versus fee-based accounts.
Again, if you download and run the iOS app you’re free account is upgraded to 5oGB of storage.
The Box.net Blog has more as does this FAQ.
Already have the Box.net iOS app? iPhone Hacks provides directions about how to receive the 50GB of storage.
If you already have the Box app, and want to claim this offer, you’ll have to log out and login again. In its terms, Box notes that the offer isn’t cumulative. That is, if you have storage less than 50GB, you’ll be upgraded to a 50GB account, but if you have more storage than that, you won’t see any difference.
