In Case You Missed It: ERIC Resumes Indexing and PDF’s Also Returning to Database
From the ERIC (Education Resource Information Clearinghouse) Web Site:
After a temporary hiatus from indexing in August, ERIC resumed indexing activities in September.
The ERIC processing team is initially focused on articles and materials that were not indexed during the transition, as well as new IES reports. New records and full-text materials started flowing into the collection once the government resumed operations following the government shutdown. Adding new records to the collection will continue on an ongoing basis.
Publications produced by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) will be indexed in ERIC on the day the report is released by IES. ERIC will also begin providing the full text of What Works Clearinghouse supporting documents as soon as they become available. Other materials produced by the U.S. Department of Education, which meet the ERIC Selection Policy, will also be included in ERIC.
What About PDFs?
We are pleased to announce that new processes are in place for reviewing and restoring PDFs temporarily restricted due to privacy issues.
There are approximately 284,000 PDFs in the production queue for review and restoration.
