Canadian Association of Research Libraries Publishes Comments on Canada’s Open Government Initiative
Highlights from CARL’s submission to the consultation on Canada’s Open Government initiative:
- We believe that Open Data and Information should be consistently applied to government data and information.
- Open Data requires reliable data. We urge the Government of Canada to reinstate the more reliable and less-expensive mandatory long-form census.
- We hope that the proposed Virtual Library will enable access to, and ensure the preservation of, government publications.
