Harvard’s First University-wide Library Mission Statement Approved by Library Board
Here’s the full text of the approved HUL mission statement:
The Harvard Library advances scholarship and teaching by committing itself to the creation, application, preservation and dissemination of knowledge.
From the Library:
Drafting the first University-wide library mission statement was an early task of the Library Leadership Team (LLT). In March of this year, the LLT circulated an early draft and consulted with faculty members, members of the library staff and other key constituents in open sessions and online. Feedback was incorporated in the final draft that was presented and approved by the Board.
