Gov Docs: Fiscal Cliff Causes GPO to Postpone a TRAC Audit on FDsys
From the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP)
One of the critical priorities this fiscal year for the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) was to conduct a Trustworthy Repositories Audit & Certification, known as TRAC, on FDsys. The audit evaluates digital repositories for reliability, and would have been performed by the Center for Research Libraries (CRL).
Unfortunately, the “Fiscal Cliff” budgetary situation has reduced available revenue for all Federal agencies. Therefore, while GPO understands the importance of an independent verification of FDsys’ status as a Trusted Digitial Repository, the audit must be postponed at this time due to current fiscal priorities.
This was a very difficult decision to make, and GPO has notified CRL.
