Des Moines Public Library Hires Ivy Library Group To Update Strategic and Facilities Plan
The city of Des Moines and the Des Moines Public Library Foundation have paired up to equally share the $100,000 cost of hiring a consultant to update the library’s strategic and facilities plan.
Greg Heid, director of the Des Moines Public Library, reported Monday to the City Council about the project. The library foundation has hired the Ivy Library Group, which has offices in Philadelphia and in Charlottesville, Va., as a consultant.

Heid said the library’s long-range plan must account for recent cuts in funding.
It also needs to be creative, he said.
