LSSI is a private company that has managed the Jackson-Madison County Library since 2006.
[County Commissioner Jerry] Bastin, said the vote was unanimous.
Bastion also told the newspaper:
“I think it’s going to help move the library ahead and be more efficient and be more responsive to the community,” he said. “… I think an out-of-town company has a little bit of difficulty measuring and gauging the community’s needs with regard to libraries. I don’t think we’ll have that problem.”

LSSI Vice President George Bateman said the company looks forward to helping in the transition.
