California: El Dorado County Library Tax Defeated
From The Sacramento Bee:
Measure L, El Dorado County’s bid to create a parcel tax to help maintain libraries from Cameron Park to South Lake Tahoe, was defeated Tuesday night.
With all precincts reporting, Measure L received 56 percent approval. But that was well below the 67 percent needed for the measure to pass.
To date, library taxes have been unequal, with some areas of the county paying while others do not.

Measure L specified that tax increases would be tied to inflation, up to 3 percent a year, but would not exceed $25.
