Tracking Hurricane Issac: Listen Live to First Responders Before, During, and After the Storm
There are hundreds if not thousands of sources and resources to track Issac as the storm moves towards landfall.
I wanted to take a moment and share an impressive directory that provides direct links allowing users to listen to live, unedited audio streams from first responder organizations as they do what can be challenging and often dangerous work.
RadioReference.com is an interactive database (browse/search by Zip Code) providing links to live streams from police, fire, and other organizations around the Gulf Coast.
For example, here are links for Orleans Parrish and the City New Orleans. With one click you can listen to the N.O. Police Department, N.O. Fire Department, State Police, and even the NOAA Skywarn Network/HurricaneNet (Amateur Radio).
You can stream directly to your browser or quickly open the audio in iTunes, WinAmp, and other media players.
Finally, RadioReference.com offers live streams 24x7x365 from the U.S. as well as Canada, Australia, UK, and 14 other countries.
