New: GovTrack Now Offers Legislation Tracking (Beta) For All 50 States (Free)
GovTrack is a free service that allows users to track federal legislation.
Now, you can do the same thing for the 50 states. Note that state tracking is a beta release that went live today.
A GovTrack Blog Post Shares What’s New:
- 50-State Bill Search (searching titles and summaries)
- State bill status, such as for Indiana SCR0005: Health Insurance Exchanges – Federal Funding (ALEC Resolution)
- Email updates for legislative activity on particular bills like SCR0005 or all legislative activity in a state (such as on this page for Massachusetts – look for “Track This State”).
- Overview of State Tracking
The new state legislative information is available here through a partnership with LegiNation, Inc. and LegiScan, Inc. Some data is additionally from Open States. Check out LegiNation’s BillTrack50 website for professional (i.e. paid) legislative tracking tools if you’re ready for a step up from GovTrack and need a 50-state-plus-federal solution.
Congrats and Kudos to Josh Tauberer for making the already wonderful GovTrack service even better.
