Harry Potter eBooks Now Available via Kindle Owners’ Lending Library
On May 10th, we posted that Harry Potter ebooks would soon be available via the Kindle Owners; Lending Library (KOLL).
As of today, all seven books are available to KOLL users. Here’s the official announcement that also notes currently 145,000 titles are available in the Kindle Owners Lending Library.
KOLL is a part of the Amazon Prime program that also includes second day delivery for all purchases and a growing number of movies and other video content that can be streamed on-demand. It costs $79/year.
Our May 10th post shares a few thoughts about what all of this should mean for libraries.
Finally, thanks to TeleRead for pointing out this WSJ Video that looks at the economics of Amazon providing access to the Harry Potter ebooks.
