An eBook Reader Will Be a Part of the Wii U Console (UPDATED)
UPDATE (June 5, 2012)
Nintendo has refuted the claims made in the Nikkei story linked below. Today’s E3 presentation also made no mention of any ereading device.
The Nikkei news service is confirming that the Wii U (formal announcement tomorrow at E3 Conference) will include an ebook reader.
From the Nikkei Article:
The Wii U will also function as a car navigation device and an e-book reader. Users will be able to interact with others over the Internet. They will also be able to sing their hearts out via an online karaoke system boasting an initial library of some 10,000 songs when the console goes on sale.
Back in January we shared some popular online speculation at the time that Nintendo was planning on offering an ereader.
The speculation also included talk about Nintendo selling book and magazine content for the device. Hopefully, we’ll know more details about what Nintendo is planning by this time tomorrow.
