eBooks for Libraries: 3M Cloud Library Terminals Go Live at St. Paul Public Library
3M Cloud Library terminals are now available at the St. Paul Public Library in Minnesota.
The Pioneer Press (St. Paul) has coverage.
3M Cloud Library, which has been in development for more than a year, will complement a rival OverDrive e-book- lending service used by public library systems in Minnesota and around the country.
3M Cloud Library is bringing major changes to St. Paul Public Library branches. Touch-screen terminals have been installed at the Central, Arlington Hills and Sun Ray branches so patrons can peruse more than 3,100 digital volumes in the Cloud Library catalog and transfer titles to their Cloud Library accounts for reading on their computers or mobile devices.

3M said it is in negotiations with a number of U.S. publishers, and expects to have news on this front eventually.
The company does not, however, expect 3M Cloud Library to become compatible with Amazon Kindle devices anytime soon.
