Dartmouth Jewish Sound Archive A Treasure Trove
Dartmouth College has a treasure trove of music, comedy and spoken word recordings collected in the Dartmouth Jewish Sound Archive. Among the 36,000 recordings in the archive are everything from the UN declaration announcing the creation of the state of Israel, to moments from Groucho Marx.
Alex Hartov and Lewis Glinert are two Dartmouth faculty members started the project 10 years ago. They spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about the scope and rarity of some of the recordings.
