Give a Hoot! New: A Complete Collection of Woodsy the Owl Public Service Announcements From NARA
If you watched U.S. television between 1965-1985 it’s likely you remember Woodsy the Owl and the many public service announcements he appeared in during that 20 year period. Woodsy was a federal government employee working for the Forest Service and focusing on the environment and more specifically pollution. Today, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) announced they’ve assembled an online collection of Woodsy’s public service announcements.
You can access NARA’s Collection of Woodsy the Owl PSA’s here and remember “give a hoot and don’t pollute.”
Btw, if you’re looking for digitized film from the U.S. Government an excellent and constantly expanding collection is available from FedFlix.
