The agency’s position as the leading U.S. agency responsible for federal policy as it relates to America’s libraries and museums is tremendously exciting to me. I look forward to helping to assure that the American tradition of strengthening communities by providing broad public access to the resources and services of U.S. libraries continues in this digital age.”

Her interests are in cultural heritage, collaboration, and the promotion of all types of open knowledge.

Maura was named a “Mover and Shaker” by Library Journal in 2006 and has been a Fellow at the Berkman Center at Harvard University since 2010. She has a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, an M.A. from Middlebury College, and an M.S.L.I.S. from Simmons College.
