Report: “Data Not Compromised in Calgary Public Library Cybersecurity Breach”
From the Calgary Herald:
No data was compromised by the cybersecurity breach that has impacted Calgary Public Library services for more than two weeks, as the library announced a staged approach to full return of services.
Later confirmed as a ransomware attack, the Oct. 10 breach closed all 22 CPL branches the following day up until Oct. 16 when services returned with several modifications for users

At a Tuesday morning media event, CPL CEO Sarah Meilleur said the library’s existing cybersecurity measures and incident response protocols were able to block the suspected ransomware attack.
“I’m pleased to report that no business, employee, or membership data was compromised,” Meilleur said.
The library is now on its “pathway to recovery” for full service, a three staged approach leading up to full public access, she says.
