South Carolina: Beaufort County Schools Ban Fourth Book in Book Review Process, Five Titles Returned
From The Island Packet:
Book review committees voted Wednesday night to ban a fourth book from Beaufort County library shelves: “Forever for a Year” by B.T. Gottfried. The committees returned five more to the same grades as before removal, and one will be reviewed again due to a tie vote.
Out of the 66 books decided on so far, committees also banned “The Haters” by Jesse Andrews, “Nineteen Minutes” by Jodi Picoult and “It Ends With Us” by Colleen Hoover. It has been eleven months since Superintendent Frank Rodriguez removed nearly 100 books for review and 31 books still need to be decided on.
