New Video: “The University of Chicago Library: Preservation Labs”
From the University of Chicago Library (via YouTube):
The Library’s Preservation Laboratories are where art meets science, and where our collections are transformed. Reflecting both the artistry of traditional practices and the ingenuity of modern innovation, conservators and digitization specialists create multiple pathways to our scholarly resources and extend their longevity. The short documentary explores the science and craft of conservation and how our expert team rescued a 16th-century antiphonarium. You will also discover how our specialists convert the physical into digital formats, helping the Library share our collections for deep exploration in Chicago and around the world.
