From Gainesville.com:
The University of Florida has thrown the books at English professor Richard Burt.
Burt, 65, who contested the university library book check-out limit of 350, was made to sign a written letter of reprimand by his chair, Sid Dobrin, and associate dean, Mary Watt. They met Monday, one day before The Sun published a front page story detailing their fight over the book limit.
“It was just, like, total surprise,” Burt said. “I never expected this letter of reprimand. Really, are you kidding me?”
The letter said Burt had “disruptive, abusive and unprofessional correspondence and interaction with officials of the Smathers Library,” “abusive and harassing emails,” and “inclusion of an email signature that is unprofessional and inaccurate.”
