European Bureau of Library Information and Documentation Association (EBLIDA) Joins Other Groups and Signs Library Manifesto For Europe
From EBLIDA:
We want that the next Parliament takes libraries into consideration and pursues ideals such as freedom of expression, free access to information, reading, literacy, social inclusion and other values that are at the core of the library’s missions.
EBLIDA has co-signed a Library Manifesto for Europe – an activity that is coordinated by IFLA and finds partners in PL 2030, LIBER and SPARC Europe.
Advocacy with the European Union is also Strand 1 of the new EBLIDA Strategic Plan that is going to be approved at the EBLIDA Annual Council.
