Indiana University’s Media Digitization and Preservation Initiative (MDPI) Releases Digitizing Film Guide

From a MDPI Blog Post by Carla Arton, Director of Technical Operations (Film), Media Digitization and Preservation Initiative, Indiana University:

The film digitization phase2018-11-19_12-07-48 of MDPI began in the fall of 2017, charged with digitally preserving 30,000 reels of IU’s significant and at-risk films to ensure long-term access for research and teaching.

As of October 8th we have digitally preserved over 7500 reels of film / 2100 hours / 2.8 Petabytes.
