Japan: The National Diet Library is Now Compliant IIIF
From The National Diet Library of Japan:
The National Diet Library Digital Collections comprises library materials that have been digitized by the National Diet Library.
The NDL is pleased to announce that approximately 340,000 digitized materials from the NDL Digital Collections are now compliant with the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) which provides a standardized method for delivering images via the web. These 340,000 items are comprised of “Books” and “Rare Books and Old Materials” which are accessible via the Internet, because their copyright protection has expired.
Images from the NDL Digital Collections can now be displayed side by side with images from other IIIF-compliant digital archives as well as attached and shared comments and tags in IIIF-compatible image viewers. Users can now enjoy enhanced interoperability of digital images in the NDL Digital Collections.
