Video: “The Bookworms of France’s National Library”
France’s National Library in Paris is a haven for both readers and researchers, who silently flick through its 14 million books. France 24 takes you behind the scenes to meet the library’s restorers. These skilled craftspeople perform little miracles to allow future generations to open the antique books. They also work tirelessly to re-condition, strengthen and preserve those works that are simply too damaged to go on display.
