Canada: Vancouver Public Library’s $15.5-million Expansion Plans

May 14, 2016 by Gary Price

From 24Hours Vancouver:

Vancouver’s Central Library on Robson Street will be expanding by 35,000 square feet starting in early 2017 — introducing a greater variety of spaces and the development of a green roof.
The announcement of the $15.5-million [$11.98-million/USD] expansion comes a year after the library introduced a digital Inspiration Lab.

The library will also be the new home of the Vancouver Archives.

Though final designs have not yet been approved, the architect is Moshe Safdie, who designed Library Square originally in 1995.
