Louise Page Named New Publisher at Public Library of Science (PLOS)

PLOS today announces the appointment of a new Publisher responsible for building on PLOS’ first class publishing operation while overseeing publishing services, production operations, business development, strategy, product management and other departments. Following a thorough and rigorous search, PLOS named Louise Page to the position, effective December 1, 2015. Page will be based at PLOS’ San Francisco office.

Prior to joining PLOS, Page was Vice President, Business Development for HighWire Press. Page successfully managed a multifaceted team responsible for publisher account management, business development and strategic planning for HighWire’s global publishers. She was also responsible for driving the strategic and financial growth of publishing partners through technology, editorial outreach and operational excellence.
Prior to joining HighWire, Page was at Oxford University Press and John Wiley & Sons, in editorial book and journal acquisitions. At Wiley, she oversaw all publishing activity from concept to production, for its first online journal, a catalyst for Wiley InterScience, the journal hosting platform.
