UPDATE: Learn About the Making of the Video
Many thanks to Kyle Moreland and David Lee King [DLK] (yes, THE David Lee King) at Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library for writing and providing infoDOCKET with a bit of background about the video and how it came to be.
The original idea came out of a meeting with the 20s/30s team (DLK – a team at our library focused on attracting young adults to the library).
I rewrote the lyrics and came up with the video concept (and weaved the many Taylor Swift references into it).
A local singer/library customer named Ashley Young recorded vocals. The video was shot during three Sunday mornings in Feb/Mar when the library was closed (DLK – we open at noon on Sundays).
The final shoot involved the 80 person flashmob comprised mostly of community members and library staff. The actual shooting and editing was done by community members Blake Kresge and Josh Mabry, both of whom work in video/media.
